Synapse Pathology Workflow Extension is a free Chrome add-on developed by synapse.pathology. It is designed to enhance the workflow of the Synapse Pathology web-based product provided by Fujifilm Healthcare US. The extension serves two main purposes: closing orphaned tabs and managing dual monitor support.
When launching Synapse Pathology from another application, such as an Electronic Medical Record (EMR) or Laboratory Information System (LIS), a new browser tab is created. The extension detects these orphaned tabs and automatically closes them, saving the user time and streamlining the workflow. This feature eliminates the need for the user to manually close the tabs themselves.
Additionally, starting from Synapse Pathology v2.6, the extension offers support for multiple monitors. Once enabled, the extension allows Synapse Pathology to launch a second screen when the user logs in. This feature enhances the user experience and improves productivity by providing a larger workspace for viewing whole slide images and managing pathology workflow.
